Kate Philabaum, director of the HeArt Gallery, wanted to design a way for folks to gather and engage their common desire to create and tell stories, while keeping 6 feet distance.
On two large looms 6 feet apart, recycled scraps of colorful fabric were made available for folks to weave an art piece and “create a tapestry that reflects the diverse textures of the community”. The display of the completed pieces illustrates how our communities are woven together regardless of age, race, gender, or religion through vibrant art. These looms are great additions to any community gathering and are available on loan for parishes and organizations looking to listen to stories and engage neighbors.
