Dear Friends in Christ,
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17 NIV).
James reminds us of the good gifts that always come from God. Every day, God showers beautiful blessings upon us. Our response to these good and perfect gifts is to love God and to love those created in God’s image. One of the ways we love God is by serving those in need by generously giving from the abundance that we have received.
One of the best ways that I have found to give over the years is through the ELCA Good Gifts Catalog. Rachel and I have delighted in the purchase of cows, piglets, goats, honeybees, and seeds given in honor of family members, co-workers, and many friends. This year the ELCA Good Gifts Catalog is highlighting specific gifts for Lutheran Disaster Response. Gifts like emergency blankets, water filters, food supplies, and trauma counseling.

In order to give a Good Gift for Lutheran Disaster Response and receive a signed Christmas card from me, here is all you need to do.
Step 1: Staring December 6 (today) through December 13, give a gift through https://goodgifts.elca.org/disaster-response
Step 2: E-mail info@nwos-elca.org to let us know where and to whom you would like the Christmas Card addressed (be sure to include a proper mailing address).
Step 3: Be sure to check the mailbox for a Christmas Card from me!
