Dear Friends in Christ,

“But now thus says the Lord,
    he who created you, O Jacob,
    he who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
    I have called you by name, you are mine.
 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;” (Isaiah 43:1-2a).

Hurricane Harvey is a huge storm. High winds and severe flooding have affected many people.

Bishop Michael Rinehart of the Gulf Coast Synod has shared photos and stories of people who are struggling with flooded homes and impassable streets. To put it simply, there are folks in the Houston, Texas area in need of our help. Let’s help them.

Currently, Bishop Michael Rinehart is seeking financial gifts to help those immediately impacted by the storm.

There will be a time for us to send folks to help with clean up and care, but not yet. Financial gifts may be sent directly to the Gulf Coast Synod or to Lutheran Disaster Response.
