Director of Leadership Development and Congregational Care
The Northwestern Ohio Synod is currently searching for a Director of Leadership Development and Congregational Care who will:
- Serve God by sharing in the mission of the NWOS through equipping, developing, and strengthening lifelong learners and strong, mission-minded leaders
- Implement strategies that assist the NWOS in its transformation to a discipling culture
- And provide care and guidance to congregations in times of transition, conflict, stability, and growth.
This position is open to both lay and ordained leaders who hold at least a Bachelor’s (BA) degree, however a theological degree (M. Div., M.T.S., S.T. M., and/or roster equivalent) is of great value. The full position description is below.

Organist/Accompanist – First St. John, Toledo
First St. John Lutheran Church of Toledo, Ohio is seeking a flexible and accomplished organist/accompanist to join our Music and Worship Team. Qualifications include being proficient at piano and organ with ability to play both contemporary and traditional hymns, anthems, and other liturgy, in addition to accompanying the choirs.
Responsibilities would include playing at all regularly scheduled worship services on Sunday and weekly services for Lent, Holy Week, Advent, and Christmas. There are two services (7:45am and 10:15am) September through May, and one service (9:00am) during the months June through August. Availability to accompany chancel choir rehearsal during the week and on Sundays and assist the Praise Team on piano during Celebratory services is also desired.

Choir Director – St. John, Port Clinton
St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, OH is receiving applications for the part-time position of Choir Director. We are seeking a gifted person to inspire, oversee, rehearse and direct our Senior Choir. Position begins in August, 2017. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in downtown Toledo, Ohio is seeking someone who enjoys working with volunteers. Qualities presented by applicants should include being a self-starter with creative vision for worship and the importance of music and arts to a community.
We have a 3 manual Reuter organ and wide range of additional instruments including Orff. We have one Sunday service, one bell choir and one adult choir. We have an art gallery, art studios and a performance space as well as rooms for practice. From our location in the heart of downtown Toledo, we envision the position growing to include outreach to the entire music and arts community.
