Director of Generosity, Northwestern Ohio Synod

The NWOS is a synod (or collection of churches in a geographic area) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. NWOS has roughly 158 congregations in northwestern Ohio. Lead by Bishop Daniel, the synod staff consists of 9 staff members who support the work of our congregations through leadership of the call process, candidacy and theological discernment, leadership development and training, providing space for ministry innovation, providing resources, and providing vision and leadership.

Objective

The Director for Generosity serves God by sharing in the mission of the Northwestern Ohio Synod (NWOS), and providing leadership in personal, congregational, and synodical charitable giving.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Bishop and working collaboratively with the Bishop, synod staff, and Synod Council, the Director for Generosity will provide direction and oversight of all NWOS fundraising endeavors, including the Annual Fund, major gifts, planned giving, and special events. The Director for Generosity is called to build personal relationships that create compelling opportunities to inspire individuals to grow in their generosity. The Director for Generosity will teach congregational leaders to strengthen and expand their fundraising capacity.

Program Director, HopeWold Outdoors

HopeWood Outdoors is seeking a full time Program Director to develop and implement programs for summer camps and year-round retreats. With 480 acres of camp property and outreach efforts throughout the state, HopeWood is committed to inclusive, accessible outdoor ministry models and we are growing to make that a reality at all levels of our organization. The right candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children, youth, and families, providing faith formation experiences, and developing teams of staff and volunteers. This position requires residency in close proximity to Lutheran Memorial Camp at HopeWood Pines. Development Coordinator, HopeWold Outdoors

HopeWood Outdoors, a Lutheran outdoor ministry organization of Ohio, is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator to lead fundraising efforts in coordination with the Executive Director. With 480 acres of camp property and outreach efforts throughout the state, HopeWood is an organization committed an inclusive, accessible camp and retreat experience.

The right candidate will be enthusiastic about outdoor ministry, vocational exploration, and fostering relationships with current and new supporters. With an average of 20 hours a week, this position both requires travel to engage supporters and includes an openness to remote work arrangements that ensure a high-touch communication style that keeps our community informed of ways to support the available ministries.
