Every Good Gift
Dear Friends in Christ,
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17 NIV).
James reminds us of the good gifts that always come from God. Every day, God showers beautiful blessings upon us. Our response to these good and perfect gifts is to love God and to love those created in God’s image. One of the ways we love God is by serving those in need by generously giving from the abundance that we have received.
One of the best ways that I have found to give over the years is through the ELCA Good Gifts Catalog. Rachel and I have delighted in the purchase of cows, piglets, goats, honeybees, and seeds given in honor of family members, co-workers, and many friends. This year the ELCA Good Gifts Catalog is highlighting specific gifts for Lutheran Disaster Response. Gifts like emergency blankets, water filters, food supplies, and trauma counseling.
During this Christmas season, I want to encourage you to give a gift to Lutheran Disaster Response through the ELCA Good Gifts Catalog. Everyone who gives a gift between now and December 13, will receive a special Christmas card from me! To learn more please check out this short video.

August 14, 2017 Dear Friends in Christ, "For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light-for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. Try to find out what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in...
Equip the Saints
